1. Our approach

House of Kaos is a small, independent events company, and accessibility is something we're actively working to improve rather than something we can claim to have perfected. If you hit a barrier — on this site or at an event — please tell us. We'd genuinely rather know.

2. At our events

Our events are staged at a range of venues across Newcastle and the North East, chosen to suit each night's theme, so accessibility features (step-free access, accessible toilets, seating, hearing loops and so on) vary from venue to venue. The venue for each event is named on that event's listing, and we're happy to check specific access details with the venue on your behalf before you book — just email us and we'll find out.

Because our nights lean into gothic theatre, some events include elements guests may want to know about in advance, such as low lighting, candlelight, haze or fog effects, and occasional loud or sudden sound. If any of this would affect you, let us know before booking and we'll tell you what to expect at that particular event.

If you have an access requirement, a mobility need, or a dietary requirement, please tell us when you book, or email hello@houseofkaos.co.uk in advance — we'll do what we reasonably can to accommodate you and will always be upfront if something isn't possible at a given venue.

3. This website

We've built this site to be simple and readable: clear text over background imagery, a layout that adapts to phones and tablets, and no content that depends on flashing or rapidly moving elements. That said, we haven't had the site formally audited against accessibility standards such as WCAG, so there may be parts of it that don't work as well as they should with assistive technology such as screen readers or keyboard-only navigation.
