“The House has always been built by the people who walk through its doors. Now I’m asking you to help me open a few more.”— Vespera, Keeper of the House
What We’re Planning
We’re setting up Kaos Kollective, a not-for-profit side of House of Kaos, and applying to UnLtd, a charity that supports social entrepreneurs, to help us get it started. Our balls and dinners will carry on as always. Kaos Kollective is for the community that’s built in between.
If we’re successful, the funding would help us:
- Run Wakes for the Living — free monthly gatherings for adults 18 and over, with a welcoming face at the door so nobody has to walk in alone.
- Host volunteer prop-making and upcycling sessions — giving rescued furniture, cardboard and old Halloween props a second life, and learning new skills along the way.
- Create opportunities for local makers — for students, artists and creatives across the North East.
Why We’re Asking You
To apply, we need to show why spaces like these matter to people in our community. Your honest answers — about feeling connected, what stops you going out, and what you’d like to see — are the strongest evidence we can give. Every question is optional, so skip anything you’d rather not answer.
The Survey

The survey doesn’t ask for your name or email address, and we can’t see who answered what. We’ll only use the results, grouped together, to support our funding application and plan Kaos Kollective’s activities.
If you choose to share a quote about what the House means to you, we’ll only use it if you say we can, and never with your name. See our privacy policy for more.
